Well kinda:



Sketched this one up while watching The Damned United, a movie about Brian Clough's early career, focusing mainly on his bitter dislike of then Leed's manager Don Revie which according to the movie was bordering on obsession. It starred Michael Sheen (Fluff's favourite actor, who I might add has also starred as David Frost, Tony Blair and Kenneth Williams to name but a few) so the sketch started to edge more and more towards his likeness, but I pulled it back just enough so that it "kinda" ended up looking like David Tennant.

Well it's got the hair and the eyebrow at least!

Oh, and the movie was pretty decent...

F#*k your Playstations, your Nintendos and your new fangled 360 machines and other such computer generated malarkey! We are talkin' about a bleedin' Dawn of the Dead board game!!!

Rifter

I never got around to mentioning(due to that comic) that I just got back from Estes Park in Colorado where I stayed in The Stanley Hotel. If you don't know; this is the hotel where Stephen King resided (for one night) and got the idea for the book The Shining.

They actually play Kubrick's movie on a constant loop on one of the TV channels and I think that is why the sketch of Rifter has that decidedly Jack Nicholson stare going on.

When I get a chance I'll put up some of the pics and tell you about some of my own ghostly encounters...

UXB

Well I finally received my comic UXB from the printers today.
It is published under my company: Alarm Clock Productions, and is the first title that I have put out(that's just a fancier way of saying "self published" people!)



What's it about you ask? Well,let me give you the pitch blurb:

Experimental anti-terrorist skin suits fuse to the muscle and bone of three teenage brothers raising them to the level of unwitting ubermenschen in a decimated post-war London. They could be the saviour of mankind; Instead their interest remains with typical 21st century distractions: video games, violence and porn.

It is a preview issue that contains an eight page story, a sketch book and some lovely pin-up art by Tom Galvin, WJC, Craig Wilson and Joe Ackerman. Below is a small splattering of some of the comic itself.















If you'd like a copy please go here and send me your postal details; I will then get one off to you free of charge. I'll even cover the postage! All I would ask in return is that you review or link to it on your blog. I figured I may as well put this blog to some use, opposed to the usual "rambling blather" that it is most known for.

So yeah, seriously, send me your address and I promise I won't spam you or send you death threats(even if you write a review to inform me that I should consider sticking a pencil up my ass and swiveling my hips as in that way I may produce something of actual worth!!)

The language of love.

A movie that plays solely on the imagination, using language (quite literally as the story unfolds) suggestion and sound to evoke some of the greatest "chill moments" I have experienced in quite a while.

It's also quite witty and somewhat surreal at times. It reminded me of listening to an old radio play, à la Orson Welles War of the Worlds, with a bit of Sartre's No Exit thrown in for good measure.

One reviewer is quoted as saying: Think of this witty, economically gory little tour de force as 28 Days Later written by 
linguist Noam Chomsky.

That's pretty apt.

Highly recommended.
